Grameenphone, Robi and Banglalink all run 4G with 5G appearing in central Dhaka, Gulshan, Banani and the Dhaka University area. Grameenphone has the widest 4G footprint nationally and is the default partner for most travel eSIM providers.
Chittagong city, the port and the Cox's Bazar beach strip are fully covered. The drive south on the Marine Drive has signal at the main resorts; the route further to Saint Martin Island ferry departures stays connected at the boat terminals.
Mongla and the gateway towns have functional Grameenphone 4G. The river boat tours into the Sundarbans mangrove forest lose signal entirely; the tiger and bird-watching routes are reliably offline.
Sylhet city and the major tea-estate areas (Srimangal, Lawachara) are well covered. The deeper hill tribe villages on the Indian border thin out, with Grameenphone the most consistent rural carrier.
Bandarban and Rangamati towns have signal. Beyond the main hill stations, indigenous villages and the longer treks toward Saka Haphong (Bangladesh's highest peak) drop signal frequently.

Buses, CNG auto-rickshaws, cycle rickshaws and the Uber and Pathao ride apps (both car and motorbike) fill in. Coverage holds across the central districts.

- The malls leave WiFi open: Jamuna Future Park (one of the largest in South Asia) and Bashundhara City. Cafes across Gulshan and Banani and the hotels offer WiFi. DAC airport has terminal WiFi. Hotels provide guest WiFi as standard.

- Grameenphone has the widest 4G footprint, with Robi and Banglalink present. Gulshan, Banani, Dhanmondi, Old Dhaka and the university area are all covered, with 5G appearing in the central business districts. Data is cheap. The metro and ride apps hold signal across the city.

- Grameenphone, Robi and Banglalink sell prepaid SIMs at DAC and across the city. Bangladesh requires SIM registration with a passport and a fingerprint at the point of sale. Local data is very cheap. The eSIM route, where supported, avoids the in-store biometric step.

- Shah Amanat International (CGP) serves Chittagong, the main port city, with transfers by taxi or the Uber and Pathao apps. The airport has 4G from Grameenphone, Robi and Banglalink. Chittagong is also the gateway to the Cox's Bazar beach strip further south. Have data ready for the ride apps and navigation.
