Econet Leo, Lumitel and Smart Mobile all run 3G/4G across central Bujumbura, the lakefront and the Rohero diplomatic district. Lumitel (Vietnam-Burundi joint venture) has the widest 4G availability in the city.
The Saga Beach resort strip, Resha and the Rumonge fishing villages south of Bujumbura have functional signal at the populated coast. Boat trips out onto the lake itself stay connected close to shore.
Gitega city, the National Museum and the Drummers of Burundi cultural centre have basic 2G/3G with patches of 4G. The drive on the RN1 from Bujumbura to Gitega has signal at the main villages; the hills between thin out.
